We went to the zoo...and I reveal what the super sekrit project is!

Anime season has started, so I am going through and giving most everything for this new season a try. I’ll be giving each anime a two-episode watch and then will make final decisions for what to watch in simulcast (we watch on Crunchyroll). So I have watched:

Cinderella Nine - shoujo baseball show. I don’t normally watch sports anime, but I really enjoyed the first episode of this show. Actually excited to see the next!

Joshi Kausei - silent film short episode shoujo. Not at all what I anticipated. Will be giving this longer than normal because of the length of the episodes. Gorgeous animation, though! 3ish minute episode.

Midnight Occult Civil Servant - slice of life shonen? I was excited about this one from the cover art, and it seems like it *could* be interesting, but I found it kind of slow paced for what my tastes are, however, will be going on to the next episode - it could change - and that’s why it’s a two episode rule in this house!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - historical shonen. And this is why I want to watch all the series coming out in the first bit to see what I like. I wouldn’t have chosen this one from the title or the cover art, but it is gorgeous and has the hook at the front, and actually feels like it might have a more unique storyline than most of the anime released this season!

Amazing Stranger - anime figurine comes to life in work-at-home otaku’s living room. Slight chaos ensues...I’m unlikely to continue. This is the one where I feel awkward even watching it. Probably won’t watch the second episode. Short, 12 minutes.

Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu - slice of life, shoujo, middle school girl seeks friends. All right, this show is probably a bit young for me, but it charmed me, and spoke to a younger version of myself, so I will likely continue, at least for the next episode.

We Never Learn: Bokuben. Queue Love Triangle with one genius voluptuous girl, one genius willowy girl, and one hard-on-his-luck-with-money-dude-so-he’s-gotta-get-that-scholarship...and you get this? I was skeptic all going into this anime. I don’t mind love triangles (or at least what appears to be a burgeoning love triangle), but I usually order them in the more shoujo style of anime, not the shonen style. However, this anime feels like it has some potential. I want to see where it is going, and would LOVE if it took an unexpected turn!

Yatogame-chan  Kansatsu no Nikki - a guy getting a girl from Nagoya to say things with her Nagoyan accent that she doesn’t want to say. Awkward to watch. Cute animation. Will not continue (not even second episode). Short (12ish minutes?).

In summary, I will not be continuing:

Amazing Stranger

Yatogame-chan

I will give these anime a second episode chance:

Joshi Kausei

Midnight occult civil servant

Hitoribocchi

I will be continuing these anime:

Demon Slayer

Cinderella Nine

We Never Learn
